Job Description

AM Batteries is seeking a skilled Process and Engineering Technician to join a highly experienced team dedicated to industrializing the next generation of lithium-ion battery manufacturing technologies. The position is open at both intermediate and senior levels, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will be highly attentive to detail, can follow complex process steps repeatably to achieve consistent results.

The incumbent is expected to be a self-motivated individual willing to perform hands-on work in a dynamically changing environment and will be responsible to provide input the development of processes, and documenting process information and results.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Operation of Pilot Coating Line Equipment: Actively engage in hands-on operation of the pilot coating line, dry coating system, and calendering system ensuring the seamless execution of processes.
  • Create powders for Pilot Coating Line: Operation of dry powder mixers to support Pilot Coating Line and sample production.
  • Support Projects, Engineers, and Facilities: Collaborate with the team to provide support for various projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of the development, engineering and facilities initiatives. Complete mechanical and electrical tasks as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering Tech degree, associate degree in similar discipline or experience in R&D or manufacturing.
  • Three plus years of relevant experience in technology and product development roles.
  • Understand blueprints and schematics to install correctly a system or piece of equipment
  • Suggesting improvements in work processes to increase efficiencies
  • Demonstrated mechanical
  • Demonstrated wiring capability and troubleshooting
  • Experience with roll-to-roll processes, web handling, or coating processes/equipment is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a high level of autonomy in tasks and projects
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
