About the role

Anzu is looking for a Business Development Analyst to join our Capital Solutions team and support strategies and key initiatives to raise capital for our portfolio companies, and other various investment vehicles. You will play a critical role in our industrial tech and life sciences startups preparing for upcoming fundraising rounds.

The position is open to any of our offices in Boston, MA, Tampa, FL, San Diego, CA, or Washington, DC.

In 2016, we launched Anzu Industrial Capital Partners, our first venture equity fund, to invest in North American-based private industrial technology companies with approximately $128m in committed capital. In 2019, we launched our second industrial and life science technology fund, Anzu Industrial Capital Partners II, with $190m in committed capital and an expanded set of institutional investors. In early 2020, we launched our growth capital fund, Anzu RBI Preferred Mezzanine and became a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In 2022, we closed our third fund with more than $200M in committed capital.

Our portfolio includes companies that have achieved breakthroughs in the physical sciences, engineering the world’s first high performance rare-earth free permanent magnets for sustainable electrification, and the life sciences, such as developing the highest resolution single-cell gene sequencing solution for understanding diseases and discovering treatments.

Our companies deliver strong returns for our investors, whether through public listing via IPO or acquisition by larger industrial players such as Siemens, and drive discoveries that improve our world.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with colleagues to identify target corporations that are strategically relevant to Anzu Partners and Anzu’s portfolio companies.
  • Proactively use LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SalesIntel and Pitchbook for prospect building, event management and day-to-day updates.
  • Maintain high targeted call activity with prospective corporate partners yielding introductions to Anzu Portfolio companies.
  • Prepare presentations and fundraising decks.
  • Plan and oversee events, with material emphasis around invite lists.
  • Join meetings with prospective customers to Anzu Portfolio companies where applicable.
  • Support prospective roadshows and fundraising campaigns.
  • Generate reports for internal use and analysis.
  • Upload and maintain research data within HubSpot.
  • Ability to travel to different Anzu offices and event locations, including potential international travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for an engineering or science background.
  • Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence, and adaptability.
  • Perseverance and overcoming adversity are a must.
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage time in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong demonstrated interpersonal skills and professionalism.
  • Prior sales experience preferred.

Salary Range

  • $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
