Xendee (www.xendee.com) is seeking outstanding, energetic, and creative minds to help us create the most compelling user experiences and software solutions that will help accelerate the adoption of distributed renewable energy systems, microgrids and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
We are actively seeking a full-time software sales engineer for our sales team at our San Diego location. You will be a key member in helping to bring the Xendee software to new clients. You will be responsible for qualifying all inbound leads at the initial stages of engagement and research and summarize information; where appropriate, connect with and educate prospects; investigate and communicate fit; determine urgency, and gauge value. You will work with the Sales Engineer Manager and close deals with support from team members, including sales leadership. You will also support outbound campaigns with research, email and other forms of outreach, scheduling of discovery calls, and other forms of prospecting activities.
As a sales engineer, you will perform the following tasks:
- Engage with possible clients and perform live and recorded demonstrations of the Xendee software platform.
- Write Xendee license offers, consulting offers, and engage in the entire sales and post-sales customer journey process.
- Perform key account research, including contacts, news, and events.
- Engage in discovery calls, scheduling meetings, outreach and report information within our CRM, Slack, and other channels.
- Support Xendee leadership with sales strategy.
- Create customer focused statistics for leadership.
- Support user outreach campaigns.
- Support outbound sales initiatives and prospecting, including account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns.
- Drive continuous improvement in the sales process. Continuously share and seek information on/from customers and the market to shape Xendee’s strategy and processes, work with customers, engineering, marketing, customer success, and sales to determine, test, and implement improvements in the sales strategy and process.
The position requires critical thinking abilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills to empower clients, and support team spirit. An engineering background is required to be able to serve our engineering focused clients. Also, it is required that you master the Xendee platform, and you are required to use it for Microgrid and energy projects.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar), plus 1+ years customer facing experience in Microgrid, renewable energy, EV Charging Infrastructure, or DER projects. Customer facing experience is required.
- Strong experience in the entire sales and post-sales process, from prospecting, to proposal writing, to SaaS sales and post sales relationship management.
- Basic understanding of energy system modelling (with Xendee or similar tools), demonstrating, lead nurturing, and selling of energy systems for design, planning or operations.
- Excellent presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with HubSpot and similar CRM technology.

Salary Range
$95,000 - $100,000
